Aug 5: Structural Insulated Panels Arrive

Todd, our contractor, just sent me a text message with the attached photo showing the arrival of the SIP's delivery truck pulling a trailer with all of our wall panels for the house.  The SIPs are pre-cut and assembly ready, which means that not only are all the window and door openings cut to within 1/4" tolerance, but all the lumber has been pre-cut and attached to the panels where it is possible to do so.

The proposed main Entry (minus the port-a-potty and construction trailer), looking SW.

Unfortunately, two of the three existing leach field lines that we planned on re-using turned up in an unexpected location beneath the proposed Dining Room and ended up in our mound of excavated earth.  Nevertheless, all of the excavated earth will remain on-site and be re-used under, around, and on top of the proposed residence.
